why German and Japanese tanks are superior than usa , and Italian?
even in ww2 one German Tiger Tank is equal to 10 sherman tanks (usa)
our m1a1 abrams can reach top speed of 66km/h,,where as german leopard tank reach 76 km/h
even japanese tank type90 is superior than ours

our government is investing billions of dollars and developing a tank that is inferior to other tanks
i am really worried about this because i want to become a tank gunner when i grow up and i dont want to be kicked by those t90s (Russian),type 90(Japanese) or leopard 2 tanks(german)
now i am 14 year old girl (i love war movies and i love history particularly first world war and second world war)

1. Who says a German Tiger tank was worth 10 M4 Medium tanks (only the Brits called them "Shermans)? Where does this "statistic" come from? Did you know that in the last year of the war Gen. George S Patton's Third Army reported the destruction of 2,287 German tanks including 808 Tigers and Panthers for the loss of just 851 M4's? Does that sound like a 10 to 1 ratio to you? The Tiger equipped a total of 10 indepedent battalions in WWII, most never reaching their full allocation of tanks. The M4 Medium equipped 16 armored divisions and 60 indpendent battalions. Even if the Tiger was equal to 10 M4's (which it wasn't) we always had at least 11.
2. Not that the top speed of main battle tanks means much of anything but according to Jane's Armour and Artillery the top road speed of the M1 Abrams is 66.77 km/h and the Leopard 2A4 72 km/h. Of course, the Abrams has considerably greater acceleration but that isn't nearly as important as a road speed that is almost never reached, right? I'd be curious what you consider to be superior about the Leopard II's main gun (which is identical to the Abrams), fire control (which lacks the M1's hunter-killer and battle management capabilities) or armor (ceramic composite with depleted uranium in the Abrams, spaced RHA steel in the Leopard II)? Come on genius, tell me how they are better?
3 . What exactly is superior about the T-90? It's slower at 60 km/h. The gun, even though a larger caliber has inferior armor penetration and accuracy. The automatic loader makes the tank vulnerable to catastrophic explosions when hit and has an anoying tendency to eat the gunners arm by feeding it into the gun breech. Armor protection is greatly inferior. Like all Soviet/Russian tanks the gun has insufficient depression making the tank impossible to fight hull-down. The commander lacks his own independent thermal sight and hunter-killer operation is not possible. I could go on and on...
The ACTUAL COMBAT EXPERIENCE with the M1, which has now been quite extensive should also do more than enough to put your fears at rest. The M1 is the standard by which all other tanks are judged.
